Hi, we would like to inform that Omizutori (Shunie), will be held from March 1st.
Omizutori is a traditional Buddhist ceremony held every March at Nigatsudo Hall of Todaiji Temple in Nara.
With a history of more than 1,200 years, it is one of Japan’s oldest continuous religious rituals.
The ceremony is best known for the dramatic ritual, during which large flaming torches are carried along the balcony of the hall at night.
The falling sparks are believed to bring protection and good fortune for the coming year.
This ceremony marks the arrival of spring in Nara.
Our hotel is located about a 15-minutes walk from Nigatsudo Hall, and we are grateful to receive many reservations during the Omizutori season every year.
Among our guest rooms, those with private open-air baths are especially popular.
Relaxing in the warm water after visiting Omizutori is a perfect way to reflect on the day and create lasting memories.
Come and experience the history and peaceful atmosphere of Nara. We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
